The Leitz HUGO lenses are designed to be small, fast, lightweight, and as close focusing as possible with the full personality of the Leica M lens glass creating character at capture.

The initial set of 7 full frame lenses ranges from 21 mm to 90 mm, all T1.5, with 18 mm and 135 mm focal lengths to follow soon. A 50 mm T1.0 lens is also available.

Building on the popularity of the Leitz M 0.8 series, the Leitz HUGO lenses use the same Leica M optics, but feature a completely new housing design and build quality to match existing Leitz cinematography lenses.

These lenses will have an LPL mount as well as the traditional cine orientation of focus and iris scales, expanded focus scales with a 270° rotation, and greatly increased close focus ability.

They remain incredibly compact and lightweight starting at 1.78 lbs / .81 kg, and between 2.7 - 4.4” (68 - 112 mm) in length.

Lens mounts can be swapped to Leica M mount or Leica L mount as well.

Leitz Cine Elsie

The Leitz ELSIE lenses are purpose-built for cinematography with character-rich, beyond full frame performance to serve a broad range of productions. They exhibit a gentle fall off of focus, resolution, and illumination toward the edges of the frame that draws the viewer’s attention toward the subject creating a dimensional feel that is more pronounced than the lenses in our Performance series, but more subtle than the more extreme lenses in our Legacy series. Their warm color temperature makes sure that talent looks beautiful and colors remain accurate.

The ELSIE lenses offer cinematographers a look with personality, but without getting boxed into something too intense or limiting in scope. While the lenses can exhibit dynamic lenticular flares wide open, they can be controlled easily by stopping down so that scenes with windows and hot practical sources are easily manageable.

They exhibit a relatively high contrast which combines with their unique focus fall off to create separation that gives the appearance of a faster lens without the drawbacks of working at an ultra-fast aperture. The bokeh quality was fine-tuned in conjunction with Leica Camera to be smooth yet maintain structure to out-of-focus elements that maintains a sense of place without sacrificing the feeling of depth, separation, and dimensionality.

The 13 focal lengths from 18 mm to 350 mm in the set of LEITZ PRIME full frame cine lenses carry the name LEITZ with its exceptional heritage for a reason. They are the best of the best when it comes to their fast T1.8 aperture (180 mm T2, 350 mm T3.6), minimal breathing, exceptionally low distortion, and non-visible chromatic aberration.

With a consistent high resolution and illumination across the entire frame and a smooth focus roll off, the LEITZ PRIME lenses present a clean image to build any looks on and are well-suited for VFX, virtual production, and post production as well.

The LEITZ PRIME lenses colour match with the LEITZ ZOOM lenses, therefore making them a perfect set for all production needs. With a 114 mm front diameter you can also make use of the MACROLUX 114 diopters. The LEITZ PRIME lenses are available in PL and LPL mount with Cooke/i and LDS-2 metadata contacts.
